Collection & Delivery

How can I get free collection?

Just book a storage period of 6 months or more for 10 sq ft or 35 sq ft storage units and we will collect totally free of charge from the areas listed below. You can rent any number of these 10 sq ft and 35 sq ft units to get the amount of storage you need and still benefit from the FREE collection.

Will you collect if I want to store for less than 6 months?

Yes, of course we will! Here at Storing.com we understand what a hassle it is getting your possessions into storage so if you want to store for shorter periods (or live outside our collection areas) then we can collect at very competitive rates – usually much lower than hiring a van. Check out our low storage collection costs.

Do I have to load my own belongings?

No you don’t! Our transport comes with a two-man team, to ensure the safest handling of your property and valuables. The loading team will also bring blankets to protect your furniture in transit. The 10 and 35 sq ft units are delivered to your home or office, and are loaded and sealed in your presence. We can also supply you with packing materials that will be couriered to you in advance of the collection day. You will need to package all of your items into boxes that can be easily handled by our team. There are helpful hints on how to do this – see under Buy Packaging

Belongings to be stored in the 160 and 320 sq ft units will be loaded on to our truck, and transferred to the secure units on arrival at our Safe Keeping facility. For charges, click here.

What is the lead time for collection and delivery of goods?

Usually a minimum of three day’s notice is required. Collections and deliveries are made on weekday mornings between 7am and 12 noon so you won’t have to wait around for a whole day.

Do I have to load my own belongings?

Can I deliver myself?

You can, of course, deliver your goods directly to our sites, and collect them at the end of your storage contract. You will find, however, that our collection and delivery costs are probably far lower than self-drive, hired labour and external handling charges.

Can I get a free delivery at the end of my storage period if I have stored for over 6 months?

No, in all cases deliveries are charged but we offer very competitive rates using our own vehicles and professional two-man team. Check out our low storage delivery costs.

How do I end my term of storage?

Personal Storage

What type of storage facilities do you offer?

At our high security sites, we offer a range of storage units to suit all requirements for both personal self-storage and business self-storage. Our smaller containers are 10 and 35 sq ft, whilst the larger containers are 160 and 320 sq ft. You may book any combination of these to achieve the storage capacity you require.

What security measures do you use at your sites?

We understand just how important security of your possessions is so use swipe card access; personal photo-identity entry; on-site security personnel; and all the very latest security technology, you can be assured that your property and valuables benefit from our slogan – they’re in Safe Keeping. What size of storage unit do we need?

Our Space Calculator will give you a guide to which storage unit you need and talking to one of our storage advisors will confirm this for you. Call now on 08000 641 642 we’d be very happy to talk to you.

Can you confirm the charges quoted on your website?

Our Price Guide Form will give you an approximate cost for storing your valuables and property, and it may well be the final price you will be charged. However, one of our storage advisors can make a detailed appraisal of your storage requirements, to make sure you are getting the best value out of the storage unit(s) you have chosen. They can then confirm the price or give you an alternative storage solution, and discuss collection arrangements.

What are the access times and what are the charges for this?

There is no charge for access to your storage unit.

There is 24 hour, 7 days a week access to the larger units (160 and 320 sq ft). You will be given personal security access to your storage units, and must provide a valid photo identification to gain access.

Access to the smaller units (10 and 35 sq ft) is available Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. We must have 24 hours’ notice of your visit. If it is an emergency, we will do all we can to accommodate your timescales.

Business Storage

Can I store my business stock in a storage unit?

Yes, we have large 160 and 320 sq ft units with FREE 24 hour, 7 days a week access, provided your stock is not a prohibited item. You will be given a personal security swipe-card to access your storage unit.

What business items can be stored in your storage units?

Businesses can store anything from stock, seasonal items, excess furniture and archive boxes, freeing up valuable space at you own premises. Bear in mind that there are some prohibited items such as:

  • Perishable food stuffs
  • Combustible or flammable items such as paint, gas, petrol or oil.
  • Illegal firearms and weapons
  • Fireworks, explosives & ammunition
  • Polluted or contaminated items

Document Archiving, Scanning & Management

Can I store my own archive boxes with you?

Yes, we provide a range of archive storage options in storage units of all sizes – find out more about our Archiving Services

Can you scan our archive documents before placing them in storage?

Yes, we have a dedicated Document Management team that can create electronic documents from your paper versions for secure, easy access from any location – find out more about our Document Management Services.

What if we need to retrieve a document from our archives?

We deliver daily using our own fleet of vehicles so can retrieve your paper documents and return them to your office.

Payments

How can I make payments?

Payments can be made by Direct Debit, Debit or Credit Card (excluding American Express) but please note Credit Cards are subject to a 3% surcharge.

Will you contact me every time a payment is due?

Once you have signed the Terms and Conditions you won’t have to worry about paying on time as the payments will be made automatically by your chosen method.

Can I pay other than by Direct Debit?

Yes, you can pay by Debit or Credit Card (excluding American Express) but please note Credit Cards are subject to a 3% surcharge.

Can I pay Cash to the drivers when they Collect/Deliver?

No, under no circumstances do we ever take cash payments.

Will you inform me when my Direct Debit is set up?

Once you have read our Terms & Conditions, and signed and returned these along with your Direct Debit Mandate, you may assume it is set up unless we contact you to inform you otherwise.

Will I receive regular invoices?

Yes, every 4 weeks either by email or post. Payments will automatically be made by your chosen payment method. You will only be contacted if your payment is returned unpaid or another problem with payment arises.

If I come out of storage and my payment in advance has just been taken, will I get a refund for the weeks I have over-paid?

Yes, in this case when you have chosen your date to cease storing with us, our Customer Services team will advise you of any refund you are due.

I am worried about putting my Card details on web sites. Can I call with my details?

Rest assured that our website has a secure section for this information. However, if you prefer to phone with your details please call Customer Services on 08000 641 642, we’d be very happy to take your details over the phone.

You have some of my personal information. How can I be sure it is private and secure, and not shared with other companies or organisations?

Here at Storing.com we understand the importance of keeping your personal details safe so we only ever use your information in connection with your storage contract with us. Both your details and your property are in Safe Keeping.
